"Pizza at any price!"

This is the unofficial motto of Pizza Month 2010 inspired by the big ol' pizza who could:
Gardner's Mashed Potato Pizza (for a list of everything that was on top check out the Pizza Month flickr set)

I was at work/school all day and Max has been working a paper he's presenting at a conference this weekend (it's in Providence so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Nice Slice!). We gave Gardner two choices, make something or pick up the phone. Being a Seawright, he decided to cook. AWESOME! Except that when he went to bake his creation, the oven wouldn't turn on.
By then it was already 8:15 and Peace O' Pie doesn't take delivery orders after 8:00 on weeknights (I wanted to order from there because they have a Wednesday night special and we just had Veggie Planet over the weekend when Francesco and Evelyn were in town). When we got home from the library at 9ish Max and I played with some knobs on the oven and still nothing. Not even a spark! We started to worry that maybe there wouldn't be a pizza tonight but yours truly, pizza maniac declared, "Pizza at any price!" Max went to buy matches and we were all set to cook Gardner's masterpizza on the stove, one slice at a time on the skillet. By that point the pizza had been sitting in the cold oven on the pizza stone for over an hour and it was all nice and goopy. Had it not been for my handy pizza peel it would have been impossible to get off. Max came to the rescue with matches and the brilliant idea that perhaps our problem was electrical. He flipped a switch and poof! Pilot was back on. Still, valuable lessons were learned:
1. We need a grill
2. Gardner should cook more often
3. Pizza at any price!

I like this story, especially since it had a happy ending and a good moral. It's important to learn from others, "you know what I mean?" ;)

this is a good motto. and I am glad gardner has been involved in this month of pizza.

and while I do not need a grill, I do need to use the grill I have.
