Our first three days of pizza:
On Friday morning we ate leftovers from Peace O' Pie in Allston. My favorite, the "Peppy", and Buffalo "chicken". Last night Max made a delicious soul food inspired pizza topped with a garlicky black eyed pea spread, collard greens, and yams. It was great, especially with hot sauce but I think it could have been even better with tempeh bacon or something a little sweet and salty. Fortunately we have twenty something more days of pizza eating to experiment with this one some more.
All I can say about tonight's pizza is that it was inspired. Seriously. The Pizza gods have smiled on us after two years of faithful service and planted the seed for this:
Bottom - top: whole wheat crust (from TJ's), cheddar style Daiya, diced heirloom tomato, roasted beets, green onion, and fresh dill (sprinkled on top after I took the pizza out of the oven). Remembering a beet and horseradish salad I saw in a Jamie Oliver book I thought we needed a little kick on this pizza so Max mixed up a little dijon mustard and vegenaise. We were both pretty much speechless. It was THAT good.
You know, since it is Pizza month and this is all over the place why not?
